Costa Rican Molas
While I was on vacation in Costa Rica, I was able to find some Costa Rican molas. A mola is an applique that is common in Latin American countries. The stitches are teeny tiny and the detail work is very intricate. Typically, molas are created with a dark or black background, but I saw a couple of molas in yellow. I brought four molas home with me, with hopes that I will stitch them into a quilt to commemorate my vacation. Stop by the shop to see the molas!
(In case you were wondering, I looked and looked for a quilt shop in Costa Rica, but had no luck... Do you think it's because daily temps average around 90 degrees?)
