When I asked LeAnn to pose for a pic, she said I should take a pic of her foot, since she just got a pedicure :-).
Jean Devereux, creator of the fabulous buttons and patterns from My Stitching Peace, brought in this primitive sampler: The Fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22. The sampler combines fusible applique, embroidery and button embellishments (handmade, custom buttons, of course). Jean is working on the pattern right now, and will soon have it available in our shop and online. The finished sampler can be framed or hung. Jean has plans to complete a series of four samplers each year. It is very exciting to see how her creative mind works!
Jean has generously made several store samples of her work. I've finished them with quilting and binding, and we will soon have kits ready. If you'd like to see all of the kits that are on the way, go to our website http://stitchintree.com/Kits/QuiltKits_MyStitchingPeace.htm
and check out the page that is dedicated to My Stitching Peace kits.

Margy Hansen, Log Cabin Quilting, Exira
Juli Larson, Prairie Star Quilts, Elk Horn
& Teresa Coenen, Stitchin' Tree Quilts, Harlan
have been working together to plan a special day for you.
Save the date, October 22. All shop hoppers will get a free original pattern (designed by Juli Larson) by hopping to all three shops. We have demonstrations and drawings in all three shops. I guarantee you'll have a great day. Invite your friends, and we'll see you in October.
I've been a very bad blogger this month. There has been a lot going on at the shop, and I let the blogging go. I don't want you all to be bombarded with blog update notices, so I will post one photo, and you can go to our facebook page to see the rest of the photos in the library.
Tony Kruse, Waukee, (son of Virginia Kruse, Harlan), stitched this turquoise red & gray baby quilt for friends who is expecting their first baby. Tony and his wife are also expecting their first, only they are having twins. Tony chose to quilt it with Noodle Soup pattern in White thread by Signature. Tony had sent the quilt top with his mom, and picked out the quilting design by looking at our patterns online.
Stitchin' Tree Quilts has teamed up with Jean Deveraux, ceramic button and pattern designer for My Stitching Peace. Together, we have selected several of Jean's designs and Stitchin' Tree fabrics to put together a variety of quick and easy wall hanging kits.
We have pics of all the kits & prices on our facebook page. After a store meeting on August 18, we will get the kits cut and have them ready for you.
Betty Leuck, Harlan, has been hard at work appliqueing kitchen towels to give as a wedding shower gift. She did a great job with the applique.
