Moments on Monday August 11, 2014

What a week!!!!  Not much quilt project working but was able to get in some family time this week end. There was a lot of much needed rain this week that I'm sure was really appreciated by the farmers. It sure is green around here making lots of opportunities to use the mowers.
We had a great time Saturday with the grandkids.  Grandpa was able to get the mower wagon out and haul the kids around.  What squeels of delight we heard from those two. (or should I say three) I think Grandpa enjoyed it every bit as much as the kids did.

I was able to get the binding sewn on the truck quilt that I made for my grandson. I seem to have a struggle sometimes with choosing the binding.  One time on a quilt, I had chosen a binding without much thoought, pretty routine. Got the binding cut and pressed and as I was sewing it on, I decided I didn't like it at all and went with something else. (what do you do with yards of binding? I'm sure something will present itself to me)  Several years ago I bought a few yards of a black and white striped fabric.  In fact it was one of those deals to finish off the bolt. Even at the time I didn't know what I was going to do with it but bought it anyway. I have been having more fun with that striped fabric and have put it in several projects. The latest being the truck quilt.  No matter what color of fabric I put up next to the edge, nothing seemed right. So out came the black and white stripe. I love it!  It just seems right to me.

This proves that when you see that piece of fabric that you really like, and just have to
have, but don't have any idea or reason to buy it; the project will find it. Maybe not immediately
but sooner or later.

Until next week....wishing you the very best.
Happy quilting,
