A Moment on Monday with Nancy

Well....another nice week end.  If this keeps up I'm going to be expecting the week ends to always be nice. :)  Bob and I hosted a fun afternoon with our church family.  Roasted hot dogs and had lots of sides to share.  Bob even hooked up the trailer to the jeep and took everyone on a  hayrack ride. (sort of)  (dang....I should have taken pictures)  Lucy was in hog heaven (I mean dog heaven)....those hot dogs kept falling off the grill for some reason.

I got a few things accomplished this past week.  (sigh)  I'm plugging right along on the sample for the block of the month.  It sure is going to be a pretty one.  Here is a sampling of the blocks. I can't wait for y'all to see them in person!

This happens to be my new favoite block.

Moments on Monday with Nancy

Happy first day of Fall everyone!!  It's hard to believe I'm saying that.  Where did the time go?

I had one of my all time best weekends and I just have to share with you all.  Spent Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday with a few friends at the Quilters Cottage in Woodbine.  What a delight!  It was such a relaxing time and got a lot of sewing done. yay!  I can't wait to show you what projects I found in my closet! It was a little hard deciding what to bring.....but I think I made a good choice.  I only had time to work on three little time.
I found these blocks in my closet and was able
to put them togetherr.  Nice design wall at the cottage.
As soon as I get the borders on it will be ready to quilt.

Moments on Monday with Nancy

Can you believe September is halfway over? Where does the time go?
I had a fantabulous weekend. In laws from Texas were in town to go to the Fall Festival in Walnut. Spent Saturday with them looking at everything and was able to see a few things I didn't know existed! It's funny how much more you see when you are looking through someone else's views. ;) Wish I would have thought to take more pictures. They found plenty and found lots of bargains and even more important they were able to fit everything in their car to take back home.

Look at this cool zebra lamp I found.

All was not lost in the project room this week end. Hubby went off to Denver to a ball game and I quickly locked the door and got busy in my sewing room. A sneak peek at the Block of the month for November.

it is kinda blurry.....I'll be sure and let you see my progress as I go along.

Tomorrow I'm at the shop.  I'm really looking forward to see what has come in since last week.
This week-end I will be going to a retreat at Teresa's cottage.  I had better get into my closet and pull something out.  That might be a fun surprise to share with y'all next week. :D

Have a most wonderful week and as always...happy quilting.
my best to you all,

Moments on Monday with Nancy September 8, 2014

Holy Cow!!! How did this happen....??? It's September, what ever happened to August? And where did the summer go? It doesn't look like there is going to be an Indian Summer and I just don't know if I'm ready to start complaining about how cold it is. It seems like tomatoes just started turning red and now it's time to start getting things ready for winter.  Just when my trip to the State Fair inspired me to try gardening and it's time to shut things down.  (I even got the neatest gardening hat)
I have been able to get one project completed this week.  The perfect bag to take to the pool.  (now it has to be the indoor pool) I've been meaning to make this bag ever since Teresa got this fabric in and I finally did it!
How cute it that?!  The picture doesn't do it justice, it's such a cute fabric.

I guess I am kinda looking forward to the weather turning cool.  Maybe then I'll feel more like getting into my sewing room (extra bedroom) and get some projects completed.  I have this closet in there that I put shelving up all around it.  I live in a hundred year old house so none of the closets are very big. I always say I'm not going to start on one more project until I get something finished in this closet.  Projects that are halfway done,  projects still in the dream stage  and projects not even thought of yet line my shelves.  The following picture is not for the faint of heart....

I'm  impressed by those people who say they always finish a project before they start another project. That would take such disipline.  I don't think their closet would look like this.  I haven't given  up hope though that someday I will succeed in getting projects finished.  There are some awesome projects in there. Trust me.

Until next week....happy quilting.

My very best to you all
