It's October already?!?!?

I cannot believe it is October 1st! There are many changes coming this month, and we are very excited about them! Teresa announced earlier in September that we are going to be closing our Retail side of the store. What does that mean? We will still have our retreaters that have booked the Cottage, our monthly Marti & Me Club, and any classes that have already been scheduled. The Cottage only has a couple of weekends open until the end of the year. After that, there are only a couple more weekends open until the end of May...that's awesome! What this means is that there will be staff at the shop most of the time. But, we are gearing up for Market which is at the end of October. On October 29th, we will officially close the Retail side of the store. You are more than welcome to purchase from the website at that point in time.

Since we are reducing our inventory, there is a HUGE sale going! All fabrics are at least 30% off. If you decide to purchase the rest of the bolt, you would receive a 50% discount! Also, you would get a ticket for the Treasure Trove drawing! The Treasure Cove has many goodies, and there's only one lucky winner! Pre-cuts are a minimum 30% off. Fat quarters are marked down to $1.50. Select notions are 50% off.

Last week, we received a new line. Atrium is from Andover Fabrics, and is great for your Autumn projects!

I just can't resist the teals and grays!

What's New at Stitchin' Tree

It's been a couple weeks since the last post because we have been SUPER busy at the store! No worries though, I will fill you in on all the latest happenings at the shop!

Christmas on Parade was a huge success last Wednesday, September 14! There were two separate sessions and each of them were full. The highlights included everything from panels to seam rippers, and table toppers to full-sized quilts! There was even Christmas caroling lead by Teresa. Did you miss the show? Not a problem! You can purchase the Christmas on Parade CD which includes patterns of several pieces featured in the show, for $20 at the shop. We will be posting pictures to our Facebook page soon.

PopStars is one of the panels that were featured in the Parade. This panel has three different sizes to choose from to meet all of your Holiday needs!

This is a little piece of the Mongo Quilt. It got its name because it's HUMONGOUS! There was also a green/black version as well, but it was gone by the end of the Parade.

Through all the hustle and bustle, we also received a new line of fabric (bottom right)! Happy comes from Paintbrush Studios, and I absolutely love it! (Hint hint...MOM!)

Check it out at!

I mentioned in my first blog that I would be writing a little bit about my personal favorites from the shop. This week, I chose Crossroads. Every time I walk into the store and look towards the back, I get to see the Crossroads quilt. One day, I asked Mom why the yellow stands out so much. Yellow stands out because it is one of the three primary colors of the color spectrum, red and blue are the others. I told her I already knew that, and there was something else about the yellow that stood out to me. If you take a look at the yellow squares with brown in the corners, what do you see? I see the sign of the cross. The yellow is the light shining from the back of the shop, which is why it always catches my attention.

What's New at Stitchin Tree?

We just received some new fabrics, yay!! Mod About You is by Wilmington Prints. It features many different designs and colors, so I will share a couple of my favorites. I love the way the flowers look so free form, but well-put together. There's a perfect amount of grey, orange, and teal to pull the flowers closer. Try not to look at the diamonds for too might start seeing double!

Check out this new line at!!

I'm baaack!!!  Did you miss me?  I sure missed all of you!

It's hard to believe the last time I shared with y'all I was getting ready for our family reunion. (mini)  Well, we had the reunion again and we're back from that!  What a great time was had by all!

I was even able to make all the kiddos mini gift bags in assorted fabric and was such a joy to fill.

Plans are already in motion for next year. :}

Things are hopping at Stitchin Tree but letting up (maybe) somewhat since the All Iowa Shop Hop is in its final week.  We met some really neat people from all over the place.  Speaking of really neat people from all over the place, we had a visit from a mother/daughter all the way from Idaho to visit us!!  Can you belive that?

Carla Evans and Elle Baumann of Aunt Hetty's Quilt Trunk, couldn't make it to market so they drove to see us all the way from Salman, Idaho!

By the way, that quilt they are standing in front of, is Teresa's very own Block Stock pattern.  The squares are all pre cut!  Several different fabrics to choose from and layouts.  They really make a great gift!

So much to catch you all up on, which is going to take time.  So I'm back and plan on sharing some more adventures/projects in the weeks ahead.

My very best to you all,
Happy quilting,
